Changing session teachers
From time to time the teachers running your classes might not be able to attend, maybe due to illness, and a cover teacher will take the session.
When this happens you’ll probably want to record this change for a number of reasons, maybe liability and insurance purposes, or so that timesheets can reflect the change and teachers are remunerated correctly.
DoDays allows you to change class teachers assigned to any individual session, whether that’s the lead teacher or additional teachers.
Making a change
First, navigate to the class and look for the particular session that you’d like to change in the Attendance list. At the bottom of the list, select the Change teachers option from the sessions drop-down menu.
You’ll now have the option of choosing a new lead teacher for that session, as well as changing its additional teachers.
All changes made will replace the class teachers for that one session, therefore, if you have two additional teachers in a class and only one is being covered, you’ll need to specify both the remaining and new additional teachers when making this change.
There’s also a number of notifications that are sent when teachers are changed. Firstly, any participant that is actively booked onto the class will be notified that a new teacher is leading a session.
Next, the classes lead teacher who is being replaced will get confirmation that they are no longer the lead teacher for that session.
Finally, the lead teacher who is covering the session will be notified that they have a new session to teach.
## Knowing a change has been made
When a change is made to a sessions teachers you will notice a little info icon above the session date, and hovering or tapping the icon will show what changes have been made.
Reverting a change
If the teachers have been changed for a particular session but you need to restore the class teachers, simply remove all selections in the Change teachers dialog and save.
This will revert any changes previously made for this session, and also triggers the same notifications as before to keep everyone in the loop.
