Making the most of tags
Tags are a great way to segment your contact list on ActiveCampaign in order to target specific groups of customers, and we create a number of tags during set up to help with this.
The Marketing Tag
The marketing tag is applied to your ActiveCampaign contacts when the customer has given consent and opted into marketing on DoDays. If the customer hasn't given consent then this tag won't be applied to your ActiveCampaign contact.
Whenever you send marketing communications to your ActiveCampaign contacts, it's important you ensure every contact you're targeting has this tag applied, to make sure you're never marketing to customers who haven't given consent.
You can read about how this tag is kept up to date in the Keeping marketing consent in sync article.
The Booked Tag
The booked tag is applied to your ActiveCampaign contacts when the customer has at least one student actively booked into one of your classes on DoDays.
When a customer leaves a class, if they have no other students actively booked into a class, the Booked tag is removed from their ActiveCampaign contact.
At this point the contact remains on your ActiveCampaign account, this is to reduce the removing and re-adding of contacts if you were to re-book customers, maybe due to them moving classes.
If the customer isn't re-booked that same day, and they are no longer actively booked onto any of your classes by the end of the day, overnight they will be removed from your ActiveCampaign account.
This means your ActiveCampaign contact list is only ever made up of actively booked customers.
The Venue Tags
For each venue you have on your DoDays account a tag is created on ActiveCampaign. When a customer is booked onto a class and subsequently created as a contact on ActiveCampaign, they are then tagged with the venue they are attending.
If a customer has multiple students attending multiple venues, each of the venues they attend will be applied to their contact on ActiveCampaign. If a student leaves and they no longer attend this venue, the venue tag is removed.
