Setting up your integration

DoDays sends a number of what we call transactional email notifications to your customers. Things like booking confirmations, session reminders (if you have these enabled) and lesson cancellations, but there isn't a way to send customised and targeted emails to your customers, that's where our ActiveCampaign integration comes in.

If you've not come across ActiveCampaign, in their own words, it gives you the email marketing, marketing automation, and CRM tools you need to create incredible customer experiences, pretty cool huh!

Before you get started with our integration I highly recommend you visit their website and become familiar with their product to ensure it's the right fit for your needs. You will also need to create an ActiveCampaign account in order to set up our integration.

Once you've signed up for an ActiveCampaign account head to the Settings => Integrations page on DoDays and click the Connect to ActiveCampaign button.

You will now be asked to provide your ActiveCampaign API URL and API Key, this is so we can link your DoDays account to your ActiveCampaign account.

You can find these details by going to the Settings => Developer page of your ActiveCampaign account, further instructions can be found in the ActiveCampaign Help Center.

Copy these details from ActiveCampaign and into the respective fields on DoDays and click Connect to ActiveCampaign. This will now begin the set up of your integration with ActiveCampaign, here's a summary of what this does.

  • ActiveCampaign account is linked to your DoDays account using the provided ActiveCampaign URL and Key.
  • Marketing, booked and venue tags are created on ActiveCampaign.
  • Student custom fields are created to support syncing 10 students per customer.
  • Webhook created to listen for a contact unsubscribing, this will then opt the customer out of marketing on DoDays.
  • All customers who are actively booked into a class will be created on your ActiveCampaign account using their name, email address and phone number, along with everything else outlined in point 2. of the Reference.

The initial set up of your integration may take up to 15 minutes to complete, and you'll be notificed via email when this is complete.
